Starting from our doorstep.
For a start, take a look at what’s within walking distance, north or south on the beach, north on Main Street into Santa Monica, east on Rose Avenue, and south on Main towards Venice’s holy grail: Abbott Kinney Boulevard. Beyond that, our guests use the bus system and now connected subway systems to discover the rest of LA, all the way downtown, past the art and science museums, into Hollywood or south to my home town, Long Beach.
Right around the corner from the Venice Beach Cottage is the Binoculars Building, Google’s LA headquarters. Designed by Frank Gehry and considered one of LA’s top ten architectural landmarks.
Keep walking south and turn left at the next block, Sunset. One block away is the famous Gold’s Gym, where you can get day passes, if you’re not already a member.
Then, you’re only a block away from Gjusta, at 300 Sunset, where you have to try something! Our guests rave about their fresh bread choices every morning.
At this point, you might as well continue on to Abbott Kinney Boulevard, which a few years ago GQ dubbed “the coolest block in America.”
More recently, the New York Post agreed: “Abbott Kinney Blvd. lives up to its super cool hype.”
Next time, try heading north on Main to see the sites in that direction. I’ll soon post a walk in that direction.
